Hier erwächst allerdings der ‚Baum des Lebens’ aus der mathematischen Theorie der Fraktale. Verzweigungsstrukturen, -ähnlich dem hier gezeigten sog. Pythagorasbaum-, finden sich auch häufig bei Wachstumsprozessen in der Natur.
Golden Tree of Life The painting refers to a well known citation of Goethe's ‚Faust’, referring to the discrepancy between (gray) theory and the full wealth of life. In this painting, however, the golden tree of life grows from so called Pythagorean tree, used in the mathematical theory of fractals. The squares on the triangle are used to subsequently subdivide the initial structure forming a tree shape. Such fractal growth is frequently seen in nature.
