Gauss im Herbstgarten Acryl auf Leinwand, 60cm x 60cm, 2010 Die Blätter in einem Herbstgarten wurden gesammelt, die Farben in 10 Farbabstufungen unterteilt und nach ihrer Häufigkeit gewichtet. Das ergab eine Gaußsche Glockenkurve wie sie in der Mitte silbern dargestellt ist. Auf der Linie unter der Glockenkurve sind die zehn gefundenen Farben symmetrisch zur Mitte angeordnet, Die Höhe der Gaußkurve über jeder dieser Farbquadrate zeigt ihre Häufigkeit an. Die Quadrate außerhalb der Gaußkurve haben auch diese Farbhäufigkeit, sind aber räumlich zufällig verteilt.
Gauss in an Autumn Garden Acryl on Canvas, 60cm x 60cm, 2010 The leaves of an autumn garden were collected. The colours of the leaves were divided into 10 fixed colour shades and weighted proportional to the frequency of their appearance. This resulted in the bell-shaped Gaussian curve presented in silver colour in the center of the painting. On the line below the Gaussian the squares with the 10 colours appear symmetrically to the center. The height of the Gaussian above each colour square represents the frequency of appearance of the colour. The colours in the squares outside the Gaussian also appear in this frequency but are otherwise randomly distributed.
